KanikaFoundation is honored to have SAIKAT BISWAS as a young dynamic President. An engineer by profession and qualification, he did not step into lucrative employment in the engineering sector. Education andemployment are the two main aspects that usually everybody follows. But gaining knowledge and taking a bold decision to set up a foundationwith limited resources, and with a genuine purpose of improving the living standards of the economically and socially deprived wasn’t easy. All this is happening because of his clear visionand belief in a positive societal change. Having the belief in participatory approaches, the management of the organizationwill mold in the true spirit of voluntarism.It is very nice to know that under his leadership, people are recognizing Kanika's efforts in giving back to society, which is why donors are coming forward voluntarily with their contributions.

KANIKA BISWAS, the Vice President of KANIKA is passionate about social service and started working as a social worker at a young age. She has compassion for the sufferings of deprived and downtrodden sections of society. She was surprised to see the atrocities and discrimination faced by women, children, 3rd gender people and hence decided to support them with equity, justice and empowerment. She has been struggling to mobilize resources for the cause of the poor and needy. She aims to distribute resources equally to all sections of society.

Mr. Pitu Biswas is working as Secretary of “Kanika Foundation” with immense hard work, dedication, perseverance, and with a vision to support and uplift the economically & socially deprived people. He graduated from West Bengal State University. All this is happening because he believes in being available to the people all time and serving as a volunteer. He enjoys listening to music and playing cricket in his free time. He also works as an active program coordinator at Kanika.
